Still no trial for ‘May 2 Kempton Park killer cop’

STILL no trial date, law-court venue for ‘killer cop’ Manape Kgoale who was seen gunning down children’s court clerk Janet Odendaal, 45…

The Wheels of Justice are standing totally still for the family of the murdered, unarmed Afrikaans woman Janet Odendaal, 45. There still is no trial date nor court-venue set for murder-accused Sgt Manape Kgoale (far right below) – charged with the execution-style killing of Mrs Odendaal, below left, while she was seated inside her car outside the Kempton Park police station May 2 2011, making a call to the police emergency number. Mrs Odendaal was a clerk at the Children’s Court. Car-park attendant Sipho Baloyi, 45, middle, illustrated to a Beeld newspaper and Kempton Park journalist exactly the way in which he witnessed Mrs Odendaal being murdered. The accused police officer, Sergeant Manape Kgoale, is on the far right. http://www.beeld.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Sersant-skiet-en-stap-weg-20110428

On 17 August 2011, local journalist  Christa Smit recorded the fact that there was yet another postponement, and still no no trial date or venue set for Kgoale, who has been charged with gunning down the white woman, He had just returned from a six-month ‘treatment for psychiatric problems’ when he gunned down the woman. According to reports, he did not know her before gunning her down. And once again, there was yet another postponement in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday, with his lawyer Riaan Louw, saying "they are still waiting for a decision from the director of national prosecution about the venue for the trial.' He said that he still did not know know whether the case would be heard in Kempton Park region court or be moved to the High Court in Johannesburg. Sergeant Kgoale, pictured right with the hat, was released on a mere R2,000 bail bond within just weeks after the murder  – and he is reportedly still on duty at the police station.

It came to light to light at the bail application that Kgoale had booked himself into the Elim Clinic for alcohol addiction between March 26 to April 2 -- and had earlier in the year also been treated for mental illness; that he was ‘in a very emotional state because his girlfriend did not want to allow him to visit their six-year-old daughter.’ It was not revealed at any of the bail-applications nor at the repeatedly-posponed court-appearances since that time why this highly-emotionally-unstable police-officer was allowed back on duty, packing a gun .He remained in custody until June 23 pending investigations. Then he was quietly given bail during a secret weekend-application hearing.

Tourism in crisis
- 9 Aug 2011 – Lowvelder reporter Marius Bakkes writes from Nelspruit that an unnamed male tour operator was murdered; and that mobs of armed strikers have for months been blocking access and attacking foreign tourists allt he major sightseeing attractions. “Yet the decline in the tourism industry in Mpumalanga has now obviously reached critical levels, but it doesn't  appear to be raising much concern at government level.” Amid reports of dire budgetary restrictions on provincial spending on tourism marketing and nature conservation, and with an administration now brought to a halt due to protest strikes for months on end, there is no sight of or word from Mpumalanga's tourism CEO, Mr Charles Ndabeni. NELSPRUIT STRIKERS ARE DESTROYING SA TOURISM INDUSTRY_WATCHED BY COPS_Aug202011

Major tourism sites barricaded

While some of the country's major tourism sights are being barricaded from foreign tourists by striking protesters, South African Tourism has not moved a finger to put contingency plans in place. Not one official at SA Tourism's head office in Johannesburg, from the CEO, past the head of marketing, Mr Iam Utermohlen, down to communications officer Mr Germain Craig, was available for comment. According to a telephone operator all senior staff members at SA Tourism were 'enjoying a long weekend due to the public holiday'. Not even the head of the national ministry of tourism, Mr Riaan Aucamp in the office of the minister, Mr Marthinus van Schalkwyk could be of much help. Though admittedly places like God’s Window and the lookout points at Blyde River Canyon are national assets, it remains the responsibility of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government to manage and maintain their accessibility to tourists. Though they are thoroughly aware of the situation, his only answer was that they were in contact  with Mpumalanga regarding the province's breakdown in fulfilling its day-to-day tourism mandate. Aucamp could not confirm to whom they were speaking and what contingency plans were under discussion. Van Schalkwyk's communications head, Mr Trevor Bloem, also remained mum about the details. On Monday he  could only offer the  usual public relation jargon such as, he was confident the matter was receiving attended attention. Mbombela municipal tourism development head, Dr Mathilda van Niekerk, has since voiced her concern about the deteriorating tourism situation in the province, after a tour operator of Johannesburg was killed by robbers at a guest house near White River. He was accompanying two American visitors, who left the country hastily the very next morning. Van Niekerk said she expected this would have a very detrimental effect on tourism in the province.Head of communications in the Mpumalanga Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Mr Mohau Ramodite, confirmed late yesterday that an urgent meeting had been called between his department and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency to work on a turnaround strategy, as he put it.  He was hesitant to say who was attending the  meeting. He did confirm though, that Ndabeni was absent.Famous provincial landmarks and tourist attractions, including Bourke's Luck Potholes and God's Window, are closed and made inaccessible”.

German tour-operator Enola Tech with German and Belgian tourists attacked by strikers at Bourke's Luck
29 July 2011 - Nicolene Smalman - NELSPRUIT - The current strike of MTPA employees is having a dire effect on tourism in the province. Famous provincial landmarks and tourist attractions, including Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window, are closed and made inaccessible. Information on incidents of foreign tourists being turned away has reached Lowvelder’s office this past week.Tools were downed on Tuesday and apart from demanding a 15 per cent salary increase, livid strikers want the organisation’s CEO, Mr Charles Ndabeni, axed.
The newspaper went to the MTPA’s offices which are situated next to H L Hall and Sons. A huge container had been pushed in front of the gate to prevent colleagues from entering the premises and members of the National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) were picketing outside. Some employees left and went off to perform field work.   Ms Enola Teich, a tourism operator of Nelspruit, took tourists from Germany and Belgium to Bourke’s Luck on Wednesday where MTPA officials told them that it was not open for the public due to the strike. "The gates were closed. One of the tourists was agitated and took the lock off the gate. The strikers then piled rocks around his vehicle to prevent him from entering," she said. The group then wanted to see God’s Window, but Teich phoned Graskop’s information centre and was informed that it had also been closed due to the strike."These tourists paid a lot of money to come to South Africa and travel far distances to see attractions the Lowveld has to offer. The strike is dealing tourism in the area a huge blow," Teich said.

It was confirmed by Mr Godfrey Sibiya, regional secretary of Nehawu in Ehlanzeni, that all tourist attractions such as Bourke’s Luck, God’s Window, Mac Mac, Bridal Veil, Horse Shoe Falls and game reserves under MTPA management are closed. Sibiya indicated that they would strike until all their demands have been met.

Municipal workers attack, injure two white J&M security guards, destroy vehicle in Nelspruit:

Aug 19 2011 NELSPRUIT -- On Wednesday heavily armed municipal workers attacked and injured two white J&M Security officials and destroyed a vehicle during their protest-march down Brown Street.
The next day the riot-control police stopped the workers from marching into the CBD, blocking their path in Andrew Street.  This followed three days of protest action marked by armed-violence and intimidation. The strikers - members of the South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) - planned to march through the city, making their way to the sonamed ‘Mbombela” (Nelspruit) Municipality porportedly to ‘hand over a memorandum stating their demands for a double-digit wage increase.’  However, following the attack on civilians and security officials the previous day, police decided to step in to prevent further violence.

Mob flung bricks, injuring white security officials; smashed car-windows

On Wednesday, J&M security officials Johnny Terblanche, Shaun Terblanche and Andrew Calitz were escorting volunteers of the Nelspruit City Improvement District through the city's streets as they were cleaning up the mess left by strikers the day before.  A red Toyota Corolla suddenly pulled up to where they were cleaning the corner of Brown and Voortrekker streets. A group of men jumped out of the vehicle and started attacking the volunteers. The driver of the vehicle was wearing a Samwu cap.  J&M Security officers stepped in and chased the men on foot. They apprehended the driver and wanted to keep him in custody until he could be arrested by police. However the mob started throwing bricks and rubbish at the security officers. They pulled at the driver of the Corolla who had been in J&M’s custody and managed to free him from their grip. Members of the mob flung bricks at J&M’s officials and Shaun was hit on the left knee. He pulled out a firearm and pointed it at one of the men, slapped it away. Calitz then climbed into a J&M vehicle to flee the scene and the mob then proceeded to smash its windows with rocks and broomsticks. Calitz sustained an injury to his right arm and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Journalists threatened: workers told: ‘you will not get paid for time-off for strikes’:

Lowvelder journalists witnessed and photographed the whole ordeal. Rioters threatened and attempted to intimidate them. The mob dispersed when police arrived  shortly after the incident. Nelspruit acting head of communications, Ms Bessie Pienaar, said after the streets were deliberately littered and the security-officers and the volunteers were attacked the police blocked the streets to protect innocent civilians, Nelspruit's acting municipal manager, Ms Norah Mthembu, awaited the strikers at the civic centre to receive their memorandum. This didn’t happen. The municipality also said employees would not be paid for time spent away from work to take part in the strikes. Samwu's leader in the province, Mr Kgokedi Mphahlele, did not want to comment on scenes of violence in Nelspruit, saying “related questions should be referred to the police.”
Lt Col Leonard Hlathi, provincial police spokesman, said only one case of assault was
reported against the strikers but nobody was arrested. There also was much damage done by strikers who attempted to sabotage water- and sewerage works and caused power-outages across town.

The Eight Stages of Genocide :

What is political asylum?
Every person has the right to live free from persecution, or the fear of persecution, based on their race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. Though every government is obligated to provide this right, many fail. Every year millions of people face persecution for traits they cannot control or exercising their religious or political beliefs. When governments fail to protect these rights, people have the right to move to a country that will protect them. This is the right to asylum. People who seek to exercise this right are called "asylum seekers" or, in some cases, "refugees." In 1951, the formal basis for exercising the right to asylum was established by an interational treaty, the Geneva Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees. Countries signing that Convention have an obligation to provide asylum or refuge to people fleeing persecution.  Much more information on sixty different countries can be found on http://www.asylumlaw.org/

What is an asylum-seeker?
An asylum seeker is a person who:

  • Has had to leave their country because it is too dangerous to stay there; and
  • Who is in danger in their country because they are being seriously harmed or
  • at risk of serious harm because of either their: political opinion, religion, race, nationality or social group; and
  • Their government can’t or won’t protect them from that serious harm

North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand:

The asylum systems in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand are complicated, involve significant amounts of administrative hurdles, and are often adversarial. Though the standard for asylum is the more or less the same on paper, there are significant differences in the way countries apply the law, the assistance they provide to asylum seekers, and the rates at which different countries recognize asylum seekers from respective countries of asylum. What all this means is that asylum seekers fleeing the same country for the same reasons can have vastly different experiences depending on where they go, how they get there, and the extent to which they can prove their case. These are the essential things for you to consider, and this material is organized around these issues.

Where are you going to seek asylum?

How are you going to get there?

What can you do to help prove your case?

Successful asylum-cases for white South Africans: case studies:

Ireland: 47 white South Africans accepted as political refugees: case study example “ White Females Unsafe in South Africa ”:

  • DIANNE LOUISE JEFFERSON, 22, 'FEARED FOR HER LIFE' IF DEPORTED TO SOUTH AFRICA - source: journalist Louise Hogan, The Independent. Tuesday September 22 2009 -- A white South African has claimed her life may be at risk due to racial discrimination if she is deported from Ireland. If granted by the court, she would become the 47th white South African granted refugee-status in Ireland since 1994. Dublin High Court bid: Dianne Louise Jefferson (22), who works as a product builder with Boston Scientific in Galway, yesterday launched a legal bid at Dublin's High Court to remain in the (European-Union) State. Judge Elizabeth Dunne granted an interim injunction preventing the state immigration services from arresting, detaining or transferring Ms Jefferson, who lives in Doughiska, County Galway. "I say and believe that as a white South African there is a real possibility of criminal racial discrimination against me and I fear for my well-being and ultimately my life if I am returned," the court heard directly from Ms Jefferson's affidavit. She left South Africa on June 1, 2002, following the death of her grandmother and moved to Ireland to be with her father.During her seven years living in Ireland, writes Hogan, Ms Jefferson completed her Junior and Leaving Certificate, studied at college, married and took up a job as a product builder with Boston Scientific in 2006.On September 16 last, Ms Jefferson was notified by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service that her application for a resident's card was refused. She was informed her permission would expire on September 20 and after that date she would be an illegal resident. She says she was advised to "go home". The court heard she has instructed her solicitor to apply for Irish citizenship on the basis of her marriage. In 2005, at the age of 18 she married Kevin Curran. The court heard Mr Curran was forced to move to the Netherlands in search of a full-time job but regularly returns to spend time with his wife. “ Ms Jefferson was granted political asylum.-http://www.independent.ie/national-news/woman-fears-for-her-life-if-deported--to-s-africa-1892639.html

More than 600 official white SA refugees worldwide:

  • Ireland forms part of the European-Union community: due to their close cultural affinity with the continent, many hundreds of thousands of ‘white’ South Africans have already settled legally in greater-Europe since 1994 and increasingly, asylum-seekers are also amongst them, mainly due to the dramatic increase in armed attacks targetting this small. very visible minority group in SA. Genocide Watch has raised the Genocide-Alert level for South African whites to Level six (out of 8) on August 20 2011.
  • This fact came to light recently when Brandon Huntley, a white SA asylum-seeker, was granted formal refuge in Canada, stating in his application that his life would be in danger if he were forced to return.  His application created a storm of outrage in ANC-government circles who mounted a massive demonisation campaign in the news media against him personally. However, Huntley wasn’t the first one: Canada has also granted asylum to a further 32 South Africans thus far since 1994.

Medical reasons for obtaining asylum for Afrikaner refugees in low sunlight countries such as Canada: familial porphyria: deadly sensitivity to sunlight:

Up to August 2011, more than 600 white South Africans lived as approved political refugees across the world. Some reasons for asylum are however also medical: several Afrikaans families have literally fled from South Africa’s abundant sunlight: they were granted permanent refuge because they suffer from familial porphyria – an potentially deadly, extreme sensitivity to sunlight which occurs often in Afrikaner families.  These porphyria-sufferers were allowed to resettle in a small northern Canadian town which has the lowest number recorded sunlight hours per year and reportedly they now are thriving and contributing to the economy as new settlers.

Up to August 2011, there were a known 170 South Africans with legal refugee status in Germany, 111 in the USA, 46 in Ireland, 33 in Canada, 24 in the UK, 18 in France and 15 in Australia. (From our information, it is also believed that some ten applications are also pending in New Zealand.) Six political refugees, all Afrikaners, arrived at Eisenhuttenstadt refugee centre outside Berlin, Germany since August 1 2011. Three Afrikaner families arrived at the Brussels centre since August 20 2011. http://www.int.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=180&art_id=vn20090905081708384C542654

AFRICA UNSAFE FOR ALL WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS MAP FARMITRACKER AUG222011
