Kill Boer Malema-trial advocate family threatened

Last week, massive intimidation tactics by Malema’s body-guards and ANC youth league protestors were clearly targetting any witnesses and terrify them enough so that they would not testify against Malema at his hatespeech trial in the Equality Court, Johannesburg. Their tactics are working: at least one farm-attack victim, a witness called by the Transvaal Agricultural Union, became so terrified he pulled out. These intimidation tactics continued on Monday, when the Pretoria News revealed that the family of Roelof du Plessis, SC, who acts for the Transvaal agricultural union in the case, is targetted by sinister death-threats which include attempts to run their daughter off the road:

White witnesses at the Malema hatespeech-trial also reportedly are being urinated on, loudly cursed, screamed at and spat upon and have to walk past this wall of loudly screaming, aggressive, dancing protestors who often chant ‘Kill the Boer’ from many accounts.  Their loud singing can be heard thumping away even inside the court-room on the eighth floor, report Afriforum representatives at the trial. On the first day, Judge Lamont ordered other intimidators out of his court room: i.a. the machine-gun-toting body-guards accompanying Malema and ‘protecting him’. Lamont did not however order the court access cleared to stop witnesses from being intimidated. It’s actually illegal for private body-guards or private security-guards to show any weapons outside their clothing in South Africa. The SA Police watching the proceedings however also have thus far failed to arrest these body-guards below for flouting the country’s laws which rule the arming of private security guards… http://www.solidariteitradio.co.za

DU PLESSIS Renette and daughtger Marinette THREAT TO FAMILY SINCE MALEMA CASE Graeme Hosken of the Pretoria News reported on April 18 2011 that the family of Advocate Roelof du Plessis, SC, who acts for the Transvaal Agriculture Union in this case, is being threatened in many sinisters ways since the start of the case. After discovering that the tyres on the car of their eldest daughter were sabotaged and cut in such a way that they would burst, causing a potentially fatal accident, the family now fear that the attacks are taking on a more sinister tone.“To say we are not scared would be a lie. These incidents, especially the latest, are far worse than before,” said Renette du Plessis.Among recent attacks were Du Plessis’s narrowly avoiding being rammed off the road last week.

After a recent night out the family returned to find that their house had been broken into.“Nothing was missing, but our family pictures were placed with newspaper clippings of the court case on our garden rubbish dump. “When we turned on our computers that night they crashed. When we took them to a computer store the next day we discovered someone had planted a string of highly sophisticated viruses on the computers, destroying everything on them. Added to these attacks was when two men driving a bakkie tried to force our daughter off the road. These incidents are becoming more sinister. We now fear for our children’s safety. While we do not know what will happen next, one thing is sure, Roelof will continue with this case.He will not stop because if he does it means that those who are behind this have won,” she said.

The couple’s eldest daughter, Marinette, said she became truly afraid when she discovered that her car tyres had been sabotaged. Roelof du Plessis said: “It makes one feel as though we are back in the dark apartheid days where state agents followed you, tapped your phones, broke into your homes and intimidated your family.”Du Plessis said even if he opened a case “nothing is likely to come of it”. - Pretoria News http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/threat-to-family-in-malema-case-1.1057908
