Highway Gardens, Bedfordview June 22 2011 - The elderly white woman was brutally beaten to death: her husband escaped a gas-chamber: the black attackers had locked him in the bathroom and opened the taps of a gas cylinder. Police call it an ordinary ‘house-robbery’. They didn’t say if anything was ‘robbed.’

Lt-col Robbie Roberts of the SAPF could only confirm that a 'house robbery and murder' took place at the house in Beverly Avenue yesterday afternoon.
"We cannot at this stage elaborate on the details of the incident because we are waiting for specialised investigation units, such as the pathologist, to arrive," Roberts told Looklocal this morning shortly before 6am.
