SA farm murders are 'serious human rights violations' – Unrepresented Nations and People´s Organisation annual general assembly in Rome

A motion condemning the SA farm murders as 'serious human rights violations' were accepted by the annual general assembly of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation's congress in Rome this week. UNPO member-nations represent more than 200-million politically-unrepresented peoples worldwide.

ANC Minister sings Shoot boer song April62010 Pretoria Mamelodi The motion was submitted by the Afrikaner minority´s representative Dr. Pieter Mulder, leader of the Freedom Front Plus party in South Africa. Dr Mulder said the approved motion in his view, also represents ´an important shift in the public image foreigners have of the Afrikaners.'

The new president of UNPO is Mr Ngawang Choepel of Tibet.

The Afrikaners of South Africa were represented by dr Mulder and mr Andre Fourie both of the FF+.

The Congress was held in the Italian Senate building in Rome. Senator Emma Bonino, vice-president of the Italian senate and senator Marco Perduca of the Italian Democratic Party hosted the congress.
Delegates from the following Members attended: Abkhazia, Afrikaner, Assyria, Balochistan, Cabinda, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Circassia, Crimean Tatars, East Turkestan, Gilgit Baltistan, Hmong, Hungarians in Romania, Inner Mongolia, Iranian Kurdistan, Khmer Krom, Mapuche, Montagnard, Ogaden, Ogoni, Scania, Sindh, Southern Azerbaijan, Southern Cameroon, Taiwan, Tibet, West Balochistan and Zanzibar.

Alongside the General Assembly, members also held interfaith candle light vigils on the Piazza Navona to illustrate the many obstacles faced by minority communities  in exercising their freedom of religion. www.unpo.org/content/view/11124/81/

 AfrikanerGenocidePictures The congress also dealt with the position of minorities living in democracies and discussed political solutions such as division of power, federalism and autonomy. 

Dr Mulder said their approved motion 'has internationalised the South African situation .It doesn't help to wait until it's too late and only then call on the world for help. The world must be continuously kept informed about accomplishments - but also about the human-rights violations in South Africa'.

UNPO was founded in 1991 to provide a non/violent international platform, also at the United Nations, for suppressed and unrepresented minority nations worldwide. One of the requirements for membership is that member-nations must swear off all violence as a means to attain autonomy.

Among the found-members were Tibet, Taiwan, Estonia , Georgia and many other former Balkan states under the old Soviet Union. Many of the Balkan states have since then reached autonomy - which is the ultimate goal of all the nation-members
