20100210 Hettie, wife Afrikaans Gospel singer Louis Britzz, raped at their Centurion home

Brittz Hettie gospel singer Louis wife raped by armed homeinvaders centurion 20100210 Beeld pic February 11 2010 - Despite her nightmare rape ordeal at her Centurion home on Monday-night, Lettie Britzz, wife of the Afrikaans gospel singer Louis, and herself a therapist, is still determined to swim the Midmar-mile this weekend. She’s been planning it for four years and won’t let the rape by one of the robbers ‘steal her life ‘s happiness,’ Lettie told Beeld newspaper in a dramatic interview.

The Britzz couple were attacked inside their high-security compound  in Centurion, and the attackers took Louis to the bedroom where Hettie already was in bed. He begged them ‘ in the name of Jesus’ to take anything – but to please not hurt his wife. However they paid him no heed - the black armed men forced the couple to the ground. Louis and Hettie were telling each other that ‘if this is to be the end, we will see each other in Heaven’. She’s now forced to take an aggressive course of antiretroviral medicine to prevent transfer to the HIV-virus which leads to the deadly acquired immune deficiency syndrome, AIDS. Hundreds of thousands of mostly black heterosexuals die in SA of AIDS and its co-infection Tuberculosis.

She valiantly told Beeld that the drugs are ‘battle scars in a war which we cannot lose’. Louis also said that the attack was ‘psychological warfare’. She also described the rapist as ‘pathetic. He probably has never experienced the true love of a woman’ she said.  Despite their brave statements however, the couple were clearly badly traumatised by the ordeal – unable to go back too their home for two nights, friends gave them refuge. Louis was planning to travel to Dubai, Australia and New-Zealand to entertain the great many tens of thousands of SA expats who work and live there. He’s now postponed the trip. http://www.nuus24.com/Content/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/1479/b68e4eb8d4c447319b99774d1ac2729e/11-02-2010-08-52/Gospelsanger_se_vrou_praat_oor_verkragting

Kind Afrikaner teacher John Scrooby murdered by Zimbabwean he gave refuge to…

2010-02-11 Norwood, Orchards, Gauteng  - The body of Johannesburg schoolteacher John Scrooby - described as a charitable man by area residents -- was found stuffed down a manhole and the homeless Zimbabwean he had given shelter to, was arrested for his murder, police said. The man claims that ‘armed men had forced him to kill Scrooby’…

Scrooby John Afrikaans teacher killed Feb102010Police found John Scrooby's body after being called to his house in Orchards, Norwood on Wednesday morning, Captain Phillip Maganedisa said. They found a tooth and Scrooby's glasses next to the door of his house and blood on the floor. A trail of blood led police to a manhole where Scrooby's body was found. He had multiple stab wounds.

"There was no sign of forced entry at the house, meaning that the victim had opened the door voluntarily for someone he knew." Further investigation led to the arrest of a Zimbabwean national who Scrooby had let stay at his house. The man allegedly told police ‘armed men had forced him to kill Scrooby’ with a blunt object around 02:00 on Wednesday. However police believed robbery was the motive for the killing, as Scrooby's money was missing. The man was arrested on a charge of murder and would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court soon.

Maganedisa described Scrooby as “a charitable man who always helped those in need. There are so many people that he has helped in the area, some he gave bread to every day, and some he gave them free accommodation. So many people are crying, not because of what he used to do for them, but because of the kind of man he was," said Maganedisa. Scrooby was a mechanical technology teacher at John Orr Technical High School in Auckland Park pictured   – a badly needed skill in a country which is haemorrhagic its most motivated and skilled workers rapidlybecause of the high violent crime rates. http://www.news24.com/Content/SouthAfrica/News/1059/0dc22aba65bc42c9a5f4534e532ff438/11-02-2010-08-12/Teacher_found_dead_in_manhole

We Support "Lana" Stevenson (14) of Hartbeespoort -- yet another South African RAPE victim

Lana Stevenson 14 Rape Victim Support Group Logo

Steve Loock - who runs the Facebook Support group for rape victim Lana Stevenson, 14  writes on 11 February: “Lana's rape case had been closed down by the police, apparently because they have no information on her assailants' whereabouts, and they can't find anymore clues to assist them in the case. They've given up, capitulated, and abandoned Lana, meaning she is now just part of the statistics. But we say NO WAY, our fight for justice is going on.”

“Lana" (not her real name) Stevenson, a 14-year-old South African schoolgirl, was brutally raped by armed attackers who invaded her family home in Hartbeespoort near Pretoria in March 2009. Ever since the incident people close to her have been hard at work, trying to get some justice done, but to no avail. Police are apparently refusing to assist Lana and her family, friends, and other loved ones, and no arrests had yet been made. And now the case has been dropped. The young girl was severely traumatized by the rape and also has to take anti-Aids medical treatment following her ordeal.

Loock writes that at the end of February all its members will be polled, asked to vote YES we stand by Lana and are going to continue our fight, or NO, we're going to let it go, and let this matter to rest. Meanwhile he calls on all keep on spreading the word, and to try and get justice for Lana.  http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&tid=1217124433573#!/group.php?gid=176011537564

South African police increasingly criminal – documentary by Susan Puren on M-Net Carte Blanche TV

Saps The once so proud, motivated, well-skilled and capable  South African Police force meanwhile is also increasingly criminal and demoralised – joining robbery-gangs and helping criminals carry out crimes and targetting the citizens they had sworn to protect.

That’s another reason why they won’t be able to protect the many tens of thousands of well-heeled football tourists. This was highlighted once again by South Africa’s best investigative journalist, the relentless Susan Puren of M-Net’s Carte Blanche, who revealed in her latest documentary Blue Lights’ that specifically lone white females are targetted by rogue police-officers who abuse their authority by arresting women on faked charges just to get them inside a police cell ‘to show them a lesson”(i.e. to humiliate and rape them.) M-Net does not advertise its clips on YouTube. A clip from the M-net report can however be seen on http://beta.mnet.co.za/carteblanche/Article.aspx?Id=3836&ShowId=1

Black SA cops allegedly shocked Rwandan rugby-player Deo Kaitesi in racist attack - with stun-guns, burnt his genitals with a lighter, and teargassed him for no reason at all

And in Cape Town it is reported that Deo Kaitesi, a Rwandan-born student/waiter in South Africa who plays for Bob Skinstad's Noordhoek Vikings rugby team,  has laid charges of assault against local police, claiming black police officers repeatedly shocked him with stun guns on his body and burnt his genitals and shouted racist abuse at him, calling him an ‘amakrerekwere’ (foreigner) and telling him: ‘this is not your land…’

  • He went to lay a charge at the police station and was told to ‘voetsek’ when he insisted that he did not want a black police officer to take his statement.

Rwandan-born Deo Kaitesi, 26, who has lived in Cape Town since he was nine, had been with teammates at the Dubliner Irish Pub in Long Street on Friday night after the opening ceremony of the Cape Town Tens, a rugby festival which was held this weekend at Hamiltons Rugby Club. Kaitesi, a business administration student, had popped out for a breath of fresh air about 11pm and was accosted by two black policemen who asked him for his papers. When he tried to explain that he did not have them on him as he was in town for a rugby festival, he says the police escorted him to a deserted dark street near Parliament.

  • Several other policemen joined them, he says, and proceeded to shock him with cattle prods and taunt him, calling him "amakwerekwere", a derogatory name for foreigners. "They told me 'this is not your land'. I was numb. I know you don't fight the police so I put my hands up. It was all I could do."

Kaitesi, who lives in Masiphumelele with his mother Aurelia, said the police pulled his trousers down and burnt his penis with a lighter. Then they searched him, took R300 from his wallet, and left. Kaitesi decided to head home and caught a train to Fish Hoek, but said one of the policemen followed him and sprayed him with teargas at the train station. He went to the police station but was told to "voetsek" when he said he did not want a black police officer to take his statement. Once home, his mother contacted Mark Wiley, Democratic Alliance provincial assembly member, and Lindi le Roux, who owns Cafe Roux with her brother Paul in Noordhoek, where Deo is a popular waiter. They returned to the Fish Hoek police station where a charge of assault was laid.  http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?newslett=1&click_id=79&art_id=vn20100207085249797C987691&set_id=1

‘Theresa Eksteen, panga-attack victim Jan 26 2010, Stilfontein – still in serious condition

Stilfontein farm worker Ms Sophie Jonas was still cleaning the blood-stains from the homestead’s carpet when Beeld journalist Nicolize van der Walt arrived on January 26 2010 to report about the frenzied panga-attack which has left Afrikaans farm resident Theresa Eksteen, 51, in serious condition at a local hospital.

Eksteen Theresa Jan 25 2010 Stilfontein panga attack victim serious in hospital pic Elria van Schalkwyk Facebook According to her family, Mrs Eksteen, left, underwent surgery to repair her crushed hands – one pinkie was nearly severed --  and she remains in deep shock and in pain.

“We suspect that it was a former employee who was fired in December. During the man ‘s panga attack, her cheek-bone was hewn open right across the cheek, she was bashed over the head, her hands were chopped up and her pinkie was nearly severed in the frenzied attack,’ said Mrs Hilda Hodges, her mother .

The picture left of the injured Mrs Eksteen was taken by neighbours while she was being stabilised by emergency personnel.

Mrs Hodges lives just a few metres away from her daughter’s cottage along the Vaal riverfront.  “She came knocking at our door, and blood was streaming from her. She couldn’t speak and could barely stand.’

Her husband Norman – who works in Zimbabwe, installing cellphone towers –  rushed back upon hearing the dreadful news.

Right after the attack, local farmers, neighbours and workers  rushed in to help find the attacker and hunted the man down after a 4-hour search. They handed him over to the police. The panga found in his possession was accepted to be the murder-weapon, said police afterwards.

The homestead was coated in blood – the bed, bedding, curtains, mats and most of the kitchen. “It happened while she ws struggling to walk to the front door to seek help. It’s cruel, but the Lord is good to us and we are getting our strength from Above, she will be allright,’ said her mother. During Beeld’s visit, the neighbours and workers were all standing to, cleaning up all the blood. Police captain  Msisithela Selima confirmed the suspect’s arrest. He said it ‘was unclear what was robbed’.  http://www.beeld.com/Content/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/1928/81c07dd929c6474298c7c5b3321455c5/26-01-2010-01-50/%E2%80%98Dit_was_net_bloed%E2%80%99_in_Vaal-aanval_
