2010-11-08 Frans Marthinus Espag, 49, stabbed to death, Pieter Human playground, Villieria – no motive
November 8 2010 - An Afrikaner man identified as Frans Marthinus Espag, 49, of Lydenburg, was found stabbed to death in the Pieter Human children’s playground in Villieria, Pretoria - right across from the John Vorster Technical High School on Meyer Street.
Beeld journalist Hilda Fourie writes that the dead man ‘s name and details were released by SAPS warrant-officer Marinda Austin-Swanepoel.
Espag was murdered during the early-morning hours in the children’s playground on Meyer Street – stabbed several times, presumably with a steak-knife which was found several metres away from his body. It seems nothing was robbed.
