Tobie Loubser, 83, tortured for 5 hours, Koppies

 

June 27 2010 - Tobie Loubser, 83, a retired director of Senwes, survived a five-hour torture ordeal in his home in Koppies, reports Afrikaans journalist Johan Brits. Loubser was carved in his face, attempts were made to cut his throat with a blunt knife, he was repeatedly beaten with an iron-bar, dragged around on his knees and shocked with an electric wire. Loubser was ambushed at around 5pm on Friday in front of his house while his bakkie. The two black males plucked him from the vehicle, bashed him around and dragged him inside.  He endured their tortures for five hours.

They took one of his three firearms from the safe, ransacked the house, drank beer, cooked and ate sausages. One man tried to cut Loubser’s throat with a blunt knife but gave up the effort, dragging the old man to the bedroom on his knees instead, where he was tortured with electric wires.

Then they tied Mr Loubser up and left in the old man’s bakkie, taking a revolver with them. Rev. Cobus Boshoff, 47, found dead on his knees in Bothaville cemetery – suicide-note found by wife

June 28 2010 –VOLKSBLAD reports from Bothaville in the Free State that Rev Cobus Boshoff, 47, and his wife Elizabeth had started the local Bothaville.com church in the former Hotel Enkelden a few years ago. Mrs Boshoff received an SMS-message from her husband on Saturday, saying that ‘there was a letter for me on his desk in the church. I drove there and when I found the letter, I realised something was wrong. I immediately started searching for him and the Holy Spirit told me he would be at the cemetery’.
