Suna Steenberg in coma since Kameelfontein farm attack

Afrikaner smallholder Mrs Suna Steenberg, 43, has been in a coma ever since she was shot twice in the head during an armed attack at their Kameelfontein Pretoria smallholding on April 15 2010, reports Hilda Fourie. Her husband Jurie has been guarding her bedside in the intensive-care unit of the Montana hospital ever since he found her critically injured after the attack.

 

He says although she’s in a coma she breathes on her own and her blood-pressure is stable. Jurie came across his wife shortly after the attack – he wasn’t present when it happened. All he knew was that ‘there were many shots fired and my wife was shot at a fire close distance. They must also have assaulted her terribly because of her front teeth are broken and her face is badly bruised.’ She was shot in the head, hand and leg. NOTHING WAS ROBBED. He says he’s convinced that she can hear him – he talks to her all the time.
