Boers, Afrikaners unite in mourning over Terre’Blanche murder

Afrikaans civil-rights leaders ask UN, EU, US intervention: to ‘stop the bloodbath of our people’….

Eugene_Terreblanche murdered April 3 2010 on farm Ventersdorp two blacks with pangas The Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (Afrikaner Defence Movement) ’s general secretary Andre Visagie has laid the blame for the gruesome murder of their martyred founder/leader Eugene Ney Terre’Blanche, 69, this past Easter weekend squarely at the feet of the ruling African National Congress’ aggressive youth leader Julius Malema ‘s illegal anti-Afrikaner public hate-chants ‘Kill the Boer’ and ‘Shoot the Boer”. .

Mr Terre’ Blanche’s funeral takes place on Friday 9 April 2010 at 12 o’clock from the Afrikaans Protestant Church in Ventersdorp. Many Afrikaans families are planning to attend. Many also said that they planned to carry the photographs of their own murdered loved ones with them in the funeral-cortege.

Visagie told Sapa the party blamed Malema directly for creating the atmosphere of hatred which had led to their cruelly-slain elderly leader’s martyrdom. In a telephonic interview with the South African Press Association, Visagie said there would be "revenge" – but what form this would take would be decided on later – after Mr Terre’Blanche’s funeral.

Only then would the various Afrikaner- and Boer groups get together for a May 1 summit conference in Pretoria. “All our leaders and members of the AWB will come together and decide on what actions we will take to revenge Terre'Blanche's death. Our leader's death is directly linked to Julius Malema's banned 'shoot the Boer' hate-song," said Visagie. Many Afrikaner- and Boer-families have broken off their holidays and returned home in preparation of the Terre’Blanche funeral. View Malema’s hates-speech singing below on this YouTube video in which he openly defied the Jan 2 2010 Gauteng High Court ruling banning the African National Congress member and leaders from singing it publicly because it ’incited violence against a vulnerable minority:”

“ANC must chose: is SA a constitutional democracy or a revolutionary state?”

The civil rights movement Afriforum today also called directly on Pres Jacob Zuma to ‘repudiate’ the hate-speech song. Its spokesman Flip Buys said Solidarity trade union and AfriForum will approach the UN-linked organisation Genocide Watch to ‘start monitoring the situation in the country. “However tragic the murder of Eugene Terre’Blanche, the problem is much greater than the murder on a well-known politician.

The violence-driven crimes targetting the highly visible, vulnerable Afrikaner minority is ‘worse than in some war-zones’, he said. http://www.afriforum.co.za/?p=4899  “Since 1994 some 2,000 to 3,000 people were murdered on their farms. That’s an uncomparably greater number of farmers murdered than the thus far twelve murders of white Zimbabwean farmers. “While we welcome Mr Zuma’s condemnation of Terre’Blanche’s murder, his condemnation also clashes directly with Zuma’s and the ruling ANC’s continuing support of the song ‘Dubulu ibhunu’ in which its followers are incited to “Shoot the Boer”. “The ANC is singing and dancing to the tune of a song which sanctions race-murder when it should be condemning the climate in which such murders are now occurring. The ANC must take a final decision as to whether South Africa is a constitutional democracy or a revolutionary state,’ Mr Buys concludes. http://www.afriforum.co.za/?p=4899

April 2 2010: High court rules that the ANC-lyric 'shoot the Boer' is “ likely to incite violence against South Africa's white minority”:

The verdict deepened a political row over whether the song, Ayesaba Amagwala (The Cowards are Scared), and Dubulu ibhunu’ ( Shoot all the Boers) which were once rallying chants against the now defunct apartheid regime before 1994, are inciting violence against the country's (increasingly destitute) white (mostly Afrikaan speaking) minority. Malema, who also openly challenges the party’s leadership of SA president Jacob Zuma, triggered the debate when he sang "shoot the boer" – boer is Dutch for farmer but also, importantly, is a generic term among SA blacks for all whites. Malema sang the song to students at Johannesburg University after the ban was issued. AfriForum, the civil rights group, had made an urgent court application to interdict and restrain Malema from publicly uttering any words "which can reasonably be understood or construed as being capable of instigating violence, discord and/or hatred" between black and white people. Two days earlier a Boksburg resident had also obtained a similar successful interdict against a group which wanted to chant the song at a public protest campaign against crime in South Africa on April 5 (today) . http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/apr/02/julius-malema-south-africa-banned-song

Even Prince Charles has condemned the ‘very shocking images of murdered SA farmers’…

AfrikGenocidePrinceCharlesShockedOverFarmMurders5Aug2003 On the very same day when these two Gauteng High Courts officially banned the ANC and any its members from chanting the genocidal hate-song from public platforms, Mr Terre’Blanche was hacked to death – and indeed mutilated with such force and hatred that he was described by his relatives as ‘unrecognisable’ – and similar to the mutilation-deaths also suffered by so many Afrikaners since 1994. The overwhelming force used was senseless violence: and as so often before, nothing was robbed.

Said Visagie to SAPA: “"And [ANC general-secretary] Gwede Mantashe, made excuses on behalf of Malema in February, and up till today [President] Jacob Zuma has not stopped it (the hate-speech chanting)." Moreover, despite a court interdict which ordered Malema from singing the song, "he still persists in continuing the hate speech [by singing] 'shoot the Boer'  -- and this means that the government condones what Malema is saying. If they come to us with condolences right now, we cannot accept it...because they condone Malema's hate songs."  The ruling party also played a part in the death “because it promoted the song of incitement.”

The Afrikaner/Boer community has shown a united front in their condemnation of the murder and many Afrikaner/Boer families also have broken off their Easter holidays to return home in preparation for Terre’Blanche’s funeral.

    Leading white English-speakers also targetted:

Rattray David murdered Rorkes Drift 27Jan2007 Friend of Prince Charles Pictures left and right: the senselessly high level of violence targetting the Afrikaner/Boer community in South Africa has grown apace under ANC-hegemony since 1994 and also targets leading white English-speakers: Anglo-Zulu war expert David Rattray, 48, right was hacked to death in exactly the same way as Terre’Blanche had been at his Rorke’s Drift lodge on 26 January 2007. The hotelier had moved to the family's historic farm to start Fugitives' Drift Lodge in 1989 and helped create a booming tourism trade in Anglo-Zulu War and Anglo-Boer War battlefield visits. Four years earlier, his close friend, the Prince of Wales, had however already expressed concern over the violence targetting white farmers, writing the letter on the left in response to such concerns to SA expat Malcolm Wren, a member of the Censorbugbear-Reports blogsite. The exiled Wren of Didcot Berkshire and his family had protested against the ‘silent Boer Genocide’ and undertook a “Soul Walk” across southern England from Avonmouth, placing yellow protest ribbons along the entire route with the names and dates of the Afrikaner-genocide victims. He already expressed fears at that time that if the government continued to fail protecting the Afrikaners these hate-driven murders would eventually ‘lead to an all-out holocaust’. The Afrikaners now are being targetted for murder at the rate of 313 daths per 100,000, Wren had noted in his letter to Prince Charles. http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~springbk/news.html

South Africa is at a cross-road” – Afrikaner civil-rights leader Dr Dan Roodt asks US, EU and UN to prevent the bloodbath of my people’

Afrikaner author and political commentator Dr Dan Roodt of the pro-Afrikaans Action group (PRAAG)  yesterday also issued a statement – agreeing with the AWB and saying: “it was the youth wing of the ANC which has created a climate of hatred towards Afrikaners which could lead to further anarchy, Zimbabwean-style land invasions, famine and even mass murder in South Africa.  “

ANC_Culture_Of_Violence_DurbanPupilsTaughtExecutionGameDurbanMarinaOct172008Picture: black South African children are being raised in a culture of violence in which they are even taught this ‘execution game’ by some teachers, as seen at the Durban marina by rageblog-photographer Snowey Smith (left). When the children saw the white photographer they pointed their toy guns straight at his head and shouted: ‘bang you’re dead’! Township youths worship the heavily-armed and extremely violent gangs which rule their neighbourhoods -- and join them in large numbers.

Roodt warned: “Only a show of unity and determination in the face of these dire threats will counter the storm of hate and retribution that is brewing in the hearts and minds of our enemies.”

He said South Africa was at a cross-road and appealed to the international community - the United States, the European Union and United Nations - to intervene to stop the approaching bloodbath of this small and highly visible minority in South Africa.

The Inkatha Freedom Party and the Congress of the People Youth Movement also agreed that Malema should stop singing the banned song Kill / Shoot the Boer ("Dubula iBhunu".) IFP spokesman Rev Musa Zondi said the murder of Terre’Blanche was “disturbing and could escalate to intra-racial hatred.”

‘Abandon that song in the name of peace’ – IFP:

    • Note the Jacob Zuma tshirt worn by this hatespeech sloganeer at the University of Free State...The IFP has learnt with shock and horror of the murder of Mr Eugene Terre'Blanche, leader of the AWB, yesterday on his farm”, Rev Musa Zondi, National Spokesperson of the IFP said. "The news of the murder of Mr Eugene Terre'Blanche has left us gripped with shock and sadness, especially when South Africa is still struggling with the senseless murder of farmers, most of whom are defenseless and live in remote areas of our country, far from regular police patrols," Rev Zondi said.
    • “This murder is even more disturbing as it comes in the wake of the controversy of the song' "Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer" or "Dubula iBhunu"  which (ANC youth leader) Julius Malema has been singing recently. Whether the murder of Mr Terre'Blanche is connected with this song or not, it makes it all the more urgent for Mr Malema and the ANC to abandon it in the name of peace. Some mindless people could take it literally and escalate intra-racial hatred and murder of farmers," Rev Zondi said. "The IFP expresses its condolences to the family and friends and close relatives of Mr Terre'Blanche and wish them Gods strength in their hour of sorrow and need," Rev Zondi concluded., tel. Terre'Blanche, 69, was bludgeoned to death between 5 and 6pm on Saturday April 2 2010 at his Ventersdorp farm in the North West province. He was reported officially dead at seven o’clock. The two persons who were arrested for the deed allegedly confessed, saying they had apparently only worked on his farm for about three weeks when they bludgeoned the old farmer to death. His dogs were found dead outside and the Boer ‘s mutilated body was on his bed: indicating that the old man had been asleep when he was attacked, and brutally, repeatedly slashed over the face and upper body with a panga and a knopkierie. The two ‘workers’ allegedly aged 15 and 21 years old, could have run away very easily and just disappeared – yet they didn’t and were arrested. The Ventersdorp community reportedly is ‘very tense’ and a police contingent was patrolling the streets -- and the Terre’Blanche farm where many Afrikaners have been arriving since the murder to give support to the family and wait for the funeral.
