Help needed for destitute Afrikaners Lochvaal

The  Lochvaal Halfway House – a subsistence smallholding which houses about 80 destitute homeless Afrikaners and Boers while they are trying to find work and new homes --  has launched a fund and with donated food also high on their Christmas list. These extra food supplies supplement their vegetable-crop raised on this self-help subsistence smallholding and will definitely provide some cheer this season, writes Werner Smook, the chairman of the Pretoria Verkennersjeug, the Afrikaner scout troop which has been very actively supporting this small community this past year, building a vegetable tunnel, providing a cooking stove and regular food-supplies. http://www.bravoland.co.za/forum/index.php/topic,4963.msg65192/topicseen.html#new

One corporate donor has a standing offer that every R1-donation will be matched with another R1 – up to R10,000 maximum. The total amount collected for the 2009 Christmas donations action thus far has been R4,110, writes Werner Smook.

The Lochvaal community home for destitute Afrikaners is a self-help scheme in which they run their own vegetable tunnel to raise subsistance crops for their survival.
