'Afrikaans hate camps' claim - the child lied

Police captain Dennis Adriao: "we are fully aware of these camps and have not had any reason to believe that these are illegal in any way. Of course when complaints are lodged, we have to investigate'.

Pictures above by Beeld newspaper, Dec 10 2008: Members of the Kommandokorps - legal gun practice

The claims by a 15-year-old Pretoria child that he was 'abducted' on Thursday and taken to a 'hatecamp' where he was 'trained to shoot black people' were met with anger and incredulity by members of the legal self-defence/gun-training club which is being accused.

What is actually happening on those perceived 'hate-farms' is that Afrikaner youths and adults around greater Pretoria -- who are living in a state of siege -- are taught self-defence and basic gun-safety by police officers and retired police officers. This was said by Pretoria resident Franz Jooste, who heads the Kommandokorps -  the legal Article 21 (non-profit) company which provides the training courses.

Black townships' culture of violence

ANC_Culture_Of_Violence_DurbanPupilsTaughtExecutionGameDurbanMarinaOct172008 The Pretoria Afrikaners -  especially at the northern smallholdings, but also in the suburbs, are being attacked and killed in large numbers by roaming, feral black young gangs this year.

Read reports here , here and here

Thirty-three Afrikaner breadwinners have already been gunned down during 47 armed gang attacks thus far this year on the greater-Pretoria smallholdings alone, according to the Transvaal Agricultural Union, who maintains records of these 'farm attacks'.

IS IT RACIST WHEN YOU WANT TO DEFEND YOURSELF FROM FERAL YOUTH GANGS?  - SOWETAN RUNS THREE ANTI-AFRIKANER STORIES TODAY...

SowetanNewspaper_ran_story_about_racistmagistrate....Afrikaners are living in a state of siege and many describe these events as if they are being 'targetted by SerfonteinMarius_magistrate_SowetanHateSpeechFrontPage_Dec102008a genocide', read here.  Often, very little of value is actually 'robbed'. One of the newspapers which is spreading this story without checking their facts, is the Sowetan, whose editors described the self-defence training programme as a 'racist syndicate'. This newspaper ran THREE major anti-Afrikaner stories today: this one: Read: this: The magistrate who plays the race card  - about Lydenburg magistrate Marius Serfontein, who is already being demonised and criminalised without ever having appeared in any court of law and found guilty of such offences. They really have it in for the people of Lydenburg, because their third story also deals with the perceived 'racism' at a private school for the mentally-disabled in Lydenburg. When one reads the story, this 'racism' involves the fact that the school only teaches these  Afrikaans mentally-retarded children in Afrikaans. read here.

The Sowetan has not asked for any comment from the Kommandokorps leaders at all - they incite their readers with incorrect 'facts: ' for instance, they never explain why the Afrikaners in Pretoria feel it necessary to go on these self-defence training courses, for instance: they never write about the slaughter of the Afrikaner breadwinners on the smallholdings and in the working-class suburbs of Pretoria. Thus the Sowetan's mostly black readership is being led to believe that Afrikaners who dare to defend themselves from the feral youth gangs attacking their families, are all just simply 'racists'.

  • Who is 'playing the race card' now? Why not ask them? Their news desk telephone number is  011-471-4104

Muller_Corrie_WasKilledToPayDruglordSowetoYouthsDec92008Muller_Hettie_Corrie_2008125_PrimroseFifthAve_GermistonHeKilledThese gangs travel from large black townships - where violence is a routine way of life  - to attack white families inside their homes. Hardly anything of value is ever looted: usually just some cheap cellphones. See our previous reports about the killer-kids of the black townships here, here and here. Only this week they sliced the throat of an elderly Primrose Afrikaner, Gerrie Muller, while his wife was pleading with them to spare his life. The Soweto gangsters who were captured told The Sowetan newspaper that they 'had to steal R7,000 's worth of goods to pay back their debts'. However they only stole a cellphone and a baseball-cap. Street value: 50 cents....

Self-defence training in commandos: an Afrikaner/Boer tradition:

With emblems and the name copied from their own cultural history -- the pre-1902 Boer Republican Commandos -- they train children and adults in self-defence techniques against armed criminals, said  Jooste at the Pretoria magistrate's court yesterday.

Wentzel Laubscher remains in custody until December 17...

Jooste was attending the remand appearance of one of their training instructors, Wentzel Laubscher, who was arrested yesterday for 'kidnapping'. He remains in police custody until his bail application date on December 17.

Jooste said the Kommandokorps is an Article 21-company registered legally, and they aren't in the business of kidnapping children nor of teaching 'hatespeech' as the child alleged. All the children attend their training courses with the signed permission of the child's guardians.

Laubscher was arrested after a 15-year-old boy told his parents in Pretoria that he'd been 'kidnapped' to attend the course last Thursday. Jooste said the boy had been there voluntarily, had lied about his age and forged the permission document and, when his mischief was discovered, was immediately taken back to his parental home on Sunday evening by Laubscher.
Jooste said the child's accusations are 'total rubbish'.

"We teach the high school children how to act in certain situations where their lives or those of their family members are endangered by armed intruders. "We are a responsible group of people and none of us would be as irresponsible as to just put a gun into a child's hands. "Only after the fourth weekend-camp do we start with specific defensive weapons-training.'

We teach people to not be defenceless against criminals...

"2400AfrikaansChildrenPretoria_Protest_ScaredtoLeaveHomeOct2008 None of us are taught to attack specific population groups, and at the start of each camp we make it certain that we will not tolerate any talk of illegal actions.' "We teach children and adults to protect themselves better and not be defenceless against criminals. Nobody is forced to do anything.'

(Picture: 2400 Kameeldrift children demonstrated recently by carrying white crosses and lying down on a rugby field, telling authorities that they had become too scared to go to sleep, go to school or even leave their homes because they had all been targetted by violent crimes this year. 33 Afrikaner breadwinners were killed in this small Pretoria region alone this year, in 49 armed attacks which specifically attacked Afrikaner families inside their homes, often without stealing anything of value.)

He said the 15-year-old child who made the accusations had left his parental home under false pretenses.
He also lied about his age so that he could attend the training camp. In future they will have to have signed authorisation from the parents which are made in front of witnesses granting children permission to attend the training. Last weekend, there were 29 other children and ten instructors - and he denied categorically that any of them had been kidnapped.

The parents of the child phoned the organisers and asked them to return the boy.
A training instructor, Wentzel Laubscher, took the boy home on Sunday-evening.
He denied 'chasing away' -- as is being claimed in certain black-readership newspapers.

Police captain Dennis Adriao confirmed Laubscher's arrest. He remains in custody until December 17 for the bail application. Adriao said the police was 'fully aware of these camps and have not had any reason to believe that these are illegal in any way. Of course when complaints are lodged, we have to investigate'.

Jooste said they use the ranks- and emblems of the former pre-1902 Boer commandos.
High school children and adults can apply for voluntary defence training. Their Hartland-commando in Pretoria already has 100 members - amongst them English- and Portuguese-speakers.Most of the instructors are ex-police and ex-defence force, skilled in self-defence and firearms training.

Afrikaners give ANC-government a failed report card

December 12 2008 - PRETORIA. The Afrikaner members of the Unrepresented Nations' and Peoples' organisation, UNPO, this week gave South Africa's ruling African National Congress Party a failing report card for the sixth-year in a row.

The Afrikaners are now only nominally represented*  in the South African parliament by the Freedom Front Plus opposition party - which this year joined on behalf of the Afrikaners as the 188th members of UNPO - which lobbies for the rights of suppressed minorities worldwide as long as they don't use violence to further their political objectives.

The Freedom Front leaders this week called on the ANC - which has split apart and now is embroiled in a bitter leadership battle -- to stop dividing the country, to address the devastating crime rate and stop blaming their own economic crisis on 'the international credit crunch.' Afrikaner cultural rights, they warned, were being severely eroded under ANC-leadership, which has undertaken a huge effort to ethnically-cleanse the entire South African map of all Afrikaans words and names and deny Afrikaners the right to jobs, land-ownership or education in their own language.

ANC must stop dividing the country

Mulder_DrPieter_FreedomFrontPlus_SaysANCfailsInGovernance The two Afrikaner leaders who introduced their lastest report card, Dr. Pieter Mulder and Mr Willie Spies, left, said at their press conference that its membership from all nine provinces had helped draw up the report card for the way the present government was running South Africa with a series of questionaires. Dr Mulder said these results -- the ANC scored 22 out of 100, a dismal failure -- 'once again emphasize how the present government is failing to serve South Africa'.

The ANC's biggest failure is their near-total failure to combat the out-of-control violent crime epidemic and government-fraud, which together are plunging the once thriving African country into socio-economic chaos and famine. The Afrikaners gave the ANC a score of 1 out of 10, the lowest rating and also scored them lower on education with two out of ten points. On average, the ANC received a very low average of only 22% on their report card this year.

Dr Mulder said the FF Plus remains committed to South Africa which offers a place for all.  The party will in 2009 - as has been the case in previous years - remain committed to the initiation of talks where it is possible and the mobilising of protest where it has to undertaken.

He noted: "the ANC has been governing South Africa for nearly 15 years. In this time the party has apparently gone out of its way to further divide South Africans in all possible ways rather than uniting them. It is our wish that the politics of the future will be dealing with a competition between those who could best unite South Africans rather than divide them."

The main problem: their inability to combat the world's highest violent crime epidemic...
"Combating crime is the core function of a government. If a government fails in this regard, the state fails.
The latest official government crime statistics -- which are grossly understated --  indicate that murder (-3,7%), attempted murder (-7,9%) and ordinary robbery (-8,7%) may have declined, but the figure for murder is stands at 38,6 per 100,000 of the population -- whereas the world average is 5 per 100,000.

Dr Mulder: "In South Africa the statistics for murder is still nearly eight times higher than the world average. Armed attacks against families inside their homes have increased by a whopping 38.9%; car-jackings by 4.4%.

These types of crimes threaten the public's lives and the public is therefore unsafe in their own homes and on their way to work. This explains the view of the public among the general public that the violent crime is still increasing -- and in fact is getting totally out of control, with police refusing to assist citizens when they send them distress calls during attacks.'

Racism, especially black-against-white (usually Afrikaner-) police officers by black members of the SA Police Service also is a growing source of concern., he warned. Two Afrikaner police officers were placed on a local ANC-government official's death list in Badplaas recently, and black police officers also increasingly act in a racist and prejudiced manner against 'white' people - often refusing to open criminal investigation cases, members tell us. The most recent example is where a black police officer had told an Afrikaner victim of a very violent car high-jacking that 'it was time for you whites to f''k off out of the country” (Beeld 7 November 2008).  Afrikaner police officers also are denied promotion within the service based only on their paler skin colour - not their competency levels.

  • "Increasing racism against white, mostly Afrikaner members of the SAPS lead to these people not being able to function properly and being over-loaded with work of other colleagues who are incompetent," Mulder noted in the report card.

" Promotion possibilities for white SAPS members are also becoming scarcer.

He also slammed the fact that South Africa's suspended Commissioner of Police and the former head of Interpol, Jackie Selebi, was, despite criminal charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice, rewarded by former President Mbeki by having his contract extended for another year. "Taxpayers therefore still have to pay for the salary of a suspended chief of police".

  • Former Minister Nqakula's refusal to answer several questions of the FF Plus in Parliament, such as for example, how many members of the police were themselves involved in crime, raises the eyebrows and destroys any trust which the public could still have had in the Police.
  • The most controversial and unforgivable policy decision of the ANC with regards to crime was probably the scrapping of the Scorpions special directorate.
  • The Scorpions were responsible for the investigation of the ANC president, Jacob Zuma, as well as the Police Commissioner, Jackie Selebi. It was the most successful crime fighting unit and overshadowed the Police with regards to successful prosecutions.

"The events as explained above, leaves a bitter taste with the public. It leaves the impression that the government is an accessory to the crime wave and this released an unprecedented anger with the public. The FF Plus' allocation of marks to the ANC for combating crime and the administration of justice remains unchanged to that of 2006 and 2007, at 1 out of 10."

Regarding their failure to produce an efficient, well-run educational system, the Freedom Front report card notes that 'the politicising of school education was taken to new heights by the ANC in 2008. It will be remembered as the ANC's year of inferior, ideology driven education".

Earlier this year, former president Thabo Mbeki and the Minister of Education made headlines with their announcement that school children would have to take a compulsory oath or pledge in which they “acknowledge the injustices of the past” and “honour those who fought against it”. This pledge singles out Afrikaner pupils as the 'culprits' and brands them for targetting by vengeful classmates.

  • The FF Plus also slammed a t-shirt project for grade 9 [upils in the social sciences studies which forced them to design a t-shirt 'as a member of a black-consciousness movement in the early 1970s."  Mulder said that this also demonised Afrikaner pupils and forced them to denounce their own nation.

"This politicising and indoctrination which have become inherent to national school education, did however not contribute to an improved education standard.

"To the contrary, indications are that the education system is failing with regards to the basic requirements, i.e. to develop literacy and numeracy of learners.

He warned that literacy rates are dropping rapidly under the ANC's education system:

  • "A study amongst 54,000 grade 3 learners from 2,400 primary schools last year, only achieved an average of 36% for literacy and 35% for numeracy.
  • "A source of hope is the fact that the ANC is apparently realising that the concept of outcomes based education (OBE) is a failure and did not lead to the standard of education being raised."

Pressure on Afrikaans schools to anglicise and deculturize stepped up:
In the Northwest, the FF Plus undertook a poll of the schools which were indicated by the Department to be Afrikaans-language, single medium schools - which is the right granted to the Afrikaner minority under the country's Constitution. It was noted that seventy percent of these "Afrikaans-only" schools had already been forced into removing their 'single-medium' status.  If headmasters object, such as Mr Koos Kruger of the Ermelo Afrikaans High School, they get summarily fired by the local departments of education.

  • The FF Plus awards a lower failure mark of 2 out of 10 than the previous years' mark of 3 out of 10.

Economic growth and job creation
Last year the FF Plus warned that the way in which the economy was being managed  could leave South Africa in a crisis within the next 10 years. Criticism was levelled at an approach by government to rather use surpluses for social grants instead of using it for developing new jobs by creating the essential infrastructure. Dr Mulder noted that the cirremt international financial crisis has acted as an accelerator -- and South Africa now is being thrown ever-faster into a socio-economic crisis of vast proportions. He slammed the ANC-leaders for blaming the current problems on the international economic crisis alone.

R40billion has left South Africa this month alone...

  • Since December 2007 the national power crisis hit the country as a direct result of the government's slack approach with regards to infrastructure development and consumers were punished with exorbitant power tariff increases. 2008 actually introduced the era of expensive, unreliable power. Power shortages lead to a moratorium on new property developments and Eskom even encouraged prospective investors at Coega and other places to place their investments on hold.
  • The government's practice of monthly fixtures of the fuel price has now exploded in the face of government as a result of the stormy international market circumstances. This has forced the food prices to sky rocket and made production costs rise to such an extent that the food shortages experienced by the poorest section of the population has now worsened.
  • Infrastructure has, especially on a municipal level, not been maintained and has reached a point of implosion.
  • Health services are no longer capable of delivering the most basic of medical services.
  • The Rand this year already lost a third of its value against the Dollar, Euro and Pound and the all-shares index on the JSE is 30% weaker than the same time last year.
  • R40 billion has left South Africa the past couple of weeks as a result of the lack of confidence in the economy. South Africa is at present hovering on the brink of a negative growth rate.

South Africa needs bigger economic stability.
Economic growth requires international confidence. Corruption and financial maladministration does not create international confidence. Corruption and maladministration is found in all the public sectors and should be eradicated. International investments in South Africa will create the possibility of sustainable economic growth and create new job opportunities, but that confidence will first have to be earned.
South Africa still has a relative growth forecast but it should be managed wisely through sensible regulation. In order to make use of this, it will not be sufficient to increase savings only.

  • Productivity will have to be increased dramatically.
Affirmative action and black economic empowerment are luxuries which the economy can ill-afford in difficult circumstances, and will have to be reduced drastically.  The party once again awards a lower failure mark for economic policy than it did last year, i.e. 3/10 as opposed to 4/10 last year.

Language and cultural rights for Afrikaners constantly eroded:
With the inauguration of the Constitution in 1996, certain institutions inherent to a democracy were established in order to help protect and develop certain issues which were regarded as bottlenecks. One of those institutions was the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights to Language, Culture and Religion (in short known as the Section 185 commission).

This year Parliament had, after more than a year's delays, accepted the recommendations of an ad hoc committee under the guidance of Dr. Kader Asmal that the commission should gradually be phased out and its cases, together with those of the Pan-South African Language Board, should be taken over by the Human Rights Commission.  The failure of the relevant institutions should be put at the door of the ANC.

  • At present the political will is apparently lacking to intertwine South Africa's rich cultural diversity in a sensible manner with our democracy. The phasing out of these institutions is a further symptom of this.

The Afrikaner community is devastated about the unilateral renaming of historical streets, towns and regions - names which were inherently linked to their own cultural heritage. They are being ethnically-cleansed from the South African map.  Dr Mulder: "nothing came of the so-named consultation process for the reaching of a consensus about these geographical name changes.  Controversial and sensitive street name changes were forced through in Durban and in Pretoria the FF Plus had to approach the court to slow down or prevent the name changes of our most historical streets." The FF Plus awards the ANC once again a poorer failure mark of 2/10 as opposed to the 3/10 of last year.

    Foreign Affairs
The South African government scores low on the Foreign Affairs portfolio, too. "Issues such as Kosovo's independence, which were not recognised by the government, while they acknowledge the Palestinians' as well as international conferences about climate change, were on the agenda of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The elections in Zimbabwe and the crisis thereafter had largely overshadowed the Foreign Affairs agenda of the government this year. In the Zimbabwe crisis the pendulum swung from moments of hope and optimism to moments of hopelessness and despondency.

When the majority of voters in Zimbabwe elected an MDC government on the 29th March 2008 and supported Mr. Tsvangirai, there was great hope and optimism that a peaceful change of government in Zimbabwe would take place. “Maybe Mr. Mbeki's silent diplomacy had eventually delivered the sought after outcome”, was the speculation of some commentators.

When it became clear after months that Mr. Mugabe would not accept the election results, the world and various African countries condemned Zimbabwe and Mr. Mugabe and his government were described as illegal.

    • The worst failure of South Africa's foreign policy with regards to Zimbabwe appears from the fact that countries such as Botswana and Zambia eventually had to take the lead (Aug 2008) to have the problem discussed on a SADC level.
    • At present even Senegal is getting involved in the Zimbabwe problem because South Africa and SADC clearly can not solve the problem.
    • Based on these failures the Department of Foreign Affairs should have the 3 out of 10 evaluation of last year reduced to 2 out of 10.

What makes a numeric evaluation difficult is that there had been differences between the Mbeki government to that of the Motlanthe government's handling of this issue in the same year.

The Motlanthe government did not hesitate to criticise the Zimbabwe crisis in much clearer terms as what had been the case earlier. The R300 million which was budgeted for by South Africa as aid to Zimbabwe, was also held back by the government in an effort to show their disapproval of the events taking place in Zimbabwe and place pressure on Mugabe. That is why the government deserves recognition and it results in the evaluation this year being kept at 3/10.

    Sport
Low points involving blatant anti-Afrikaner reacism are:

  • The ANC's minister of sport, Butana Komphela, being quoted by the news media as saying that "the South African Olympic Committee is full of whites and Indians who do not care about transformation."

  • The humiliation of sport administrators in front of the parliamentary portfolio committee on Sport about issues which did not fall within the mandate of the committee.

  • The fiasco surrounding the Department of Sport and Recreation's fruitless expenses on a half completed display at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

  • The umpteenth failed audit of the Department of Sport and recreation.

  • The government's interference in the issues of Mind Sport South Africa with the appointment of a “national team” by the minister and the Gauteng MEC.

  • The unsuitable and divisive controversy about the Springbok Emblem.

  • The FF Plus therefore gives the government a poorer mark for sport, i.e. 3/10 as opposed to 4/10 last year.

History of Freedom Front Plus and the Afrikaner:

Afrikaner_Poverty WestCaope_Oct2008_Report To CT Mayor Helen Zillie_HelpingHandCharity Picture: Homeless Afrikaners. Afrikaners represent only about 3-million of the 4-million ethno-European minority in South Africa. Although ethno-Europeans, they have no familiar ties to the European mainland because they have lived in South Africa for the past 350 years. Although they are such a small minority, the ANC-regime in 1994 felt it necessary to create a huge variety of laws to bar this minority from private land-ownership, from most access to the public and private job markets and bars them from tender-procedures at local municipalities as well as from public housing, based only on their skin-colour. One-third of the Afrikaners, one-million, have for this reason fallen into permanent homelessness and destitution since 1994. Many Afrikaners also are increasingly disenfranchised: as homeless, destitute people, they are not registered at any address where they could vote in any election, according to the Solidarity Trade Union's Helping Hand organisation.

    * History of voting patterns by Afrikaners:

In 1994, under the leadership of General Constand Viljoen, the Freedom Front received 2.2% of the national vote, but in the second non-racial election in 1999 their support dropped to 0.8%. In 2003, shortly before the 2004 general election, the Conservative Party, the Afrikaner Eenheids Beweging and the Freedom Front decided to contest the election as a single entity under the name Freedom Front Plus (FF+), led by Dr Mulder. In the 2004 general election, support for the Freedom Front rose by 0.09% to 0.89%. (1994 General Election results:  National Assembly African National Congress (ANC) 12,237,655 62 mostly black majority votes.) The Freedom Front Plus is closely associated with the Afrikaner settlement of Orania. Afrikaners are ethno-European South Africans of predominantly Calvinist Dutch religion; they descend from German, French Huguenot, Friesian and Walloon  and their home language is Afrikaans, an archaic form of 16th century Dutch. Orania is a registered Afrikaner Trust Farm located along the Orange River in the Northern Cape province in the arid Karoo region.
